Today was an excellent day.

Family outing, en memoriam de ma grand-mère. Saw my Aunts and Uncles and Cousins. As ususal with family outings, there were people there who I was related to but didn’t remember meeting before, plus of course the usual new additions to the family, and various relations from out of state and out of the country.

We went to a reserve/park/beach near my Uncle’s house, and it was really nice.

I hung out with the usual collection of first cousins (once and twice removed).

• We ate lunch.
• We talked crap and laughed.
• We wandered to the beach.
• We swam (even though I’d forgotten my bathers).
• Chloe and I had to plead with one of our younger cousins to get the fuck out of the water.
• We lay in the sun and chatted and started the whole browning of the skin process.
• We ate fruit and other sweet things.
• We laughed some more.

All in all it was a great day. I have started on a tan, I am a hell of a lot happier than yesterday, my hair has become the überbeachsaltcurlmaximus again, and the inevitable sprinkle of freckles on my nose should come soon.

In other words, Summer is here, and for once, I think it’s loverly.

Oh yeah, and daylight savings time is here. I love it.
